Deutz-Mülheimer Strasse 127-129
GEBÄUDE 9, a former warehouse, is situated inside a defunct factory site on the right bank of the river Rhine. Since 1996, it has been operated by a group of local promoters. The 500-capacity venue has become a fixture on the German circuit, attracting a lot of high-profile, internationally acclaimed artists—from the latest indie rock must-sees to cutting-edge dance acts. The GEBÄUDE 9 premises consist of an ambient bar room and a concert hall.
In recent years, Cardinal Sessions has captured intimate and spontaneous live-acoustic sessions with musicians from all around the world. Artists like Conor Oberst, The War on Drugs, Bombay Bicycle Club, Hozier, The Avett Brothers and Hot Water Music have all performed in front of Cardinal Sessions’ cameras. In addition to well-known acts, the team also has a knack for identifying lesser-known artists, and has filmed sessions with AnnenMayKantereit and Ry X early in their careers. At Telekom Electronic Beats Festival in Cologne, Cardinal Sessions present a small indoor festival for the first time.
